ABOUT ME

I am a photographer based in Rome, Italy.

I take pictures of what captures my attention and stirs some sort of emotion in me, and this is what I seek to replicate in an image. I do it with passion. I shoot pictures to freeze in time a particular moment so that I can remember it later, or just to express what I’m feeling.

For me, photography is also a way to show others how I see the world around me, while leaving room for the imagination of the observer. I don’t usually focus on specific subjects: I’m just curious and I experiment with anything from landscape to portraits, from street photography to architecture. The technique, which must be mastered in order to take fine pictures, is very important but is nothing more than a medium. What counts most is the subject, the content of the image.

In my opinion, photography is also an individual journey, an occasion to grow, a track in the life of a person. And at the end of the day, what is possibly the best thing of all, photography is a private space where you can seek refuge when you need to spend some time with yourself.

Fotografo ciò che attira la mia attenzione e mi trasmette delle emozioni, che cerco di riprodurre in un’immagine. Lo faccio con passione. Scatto per fermare un istante particolare, per poterlo ricordare in un altro momento, o semplicemente per esprimere quello che sento.

La fotografia per me è anche mostrare agli altri come vedo il mondo che mi circonda, pur lasciando spazio all’immaginazione di chi osserva. Non c’è un soggetto particolare su cui mi concentro abitualmente: sono una persona curiosa, quindi sperimento dal paesaggio al ritratto, dalla street photography all’architettura. La tecnica, che deve essere conosciuta per realizzare delle belle foto, è molto importante ma rimane pur sempre uno strumento. Quel che conta di più è il soggetto, il contenuto dell’immagine.

La fotografia per quanto mi riguarda è anche un percorso individuale, evolutivo, una traccia del proprio cammino. L’evoluzione, o il cambiamento, si concretizza a livello contenutistico e tecnico. Infine, forse la cosa più bella di tutte, la fotografia è uno spazio privato in cui rifugiarsi quando si ha bisogno di stare con sé stessi.
